Online poker has been increasing worldwide and is present a very good business. U.S Government made a law to ban online gambling taking the liberty away from their own people. Many poker fans have been concerned about the passing of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Act last year. The question is does the Act make it illegal to play online poker?
Firstly, one should know that before the Act was passed, online gambling was actually declared illegal by a few states. Though, online gambling remains illegal in few states, no one has ever been put on trial by any state for gambling online.
After the Act was passed, nothing actually got distorted with regards to the legitimacy of online gambling. The Act did not make online gambling illegal entirely, in the United States of America. The law made it illegal for financial organizations in the US to allow the use of electronic fund transmitting and credit or debit cards in relation with online gambling. This way players cannot make bets or collect winnings with the help of these methods.
